I've just started reading '1984' by George Orwell, about 30 pages in, and I'm wondering...

Are we closer to the events he created, or are we already living in one?

Are we now living in the New World and unconsciously erasing the Old World?

Did George have a time machine to travel and witness the reality of the future, which seems to be exactly the world we are living in now or perhaps in the near future?

A dystopian novel that depicts the closest description to the world that you and I live in, and this was written about 73 years ago - that gave me goosebumps!
