Atmosphere & a gist of thoughts

This book somehow makes me feel comfort in the midst of the chaotic life our main character, Detective Conny. Complex mind but passionate man, not just towards his job but also towards his loving wife and their kids. For some reason, I enjoyed his sense of overthinking, obsessing and making speculations of finding the lead to his murder case. The level of details and his thinking that never rest to connect the dot. Its typically tense, dark and suspenseful (unexpected plot twist, sometimes are ridiculous but real!)but I think I’d call it suits a cosy mystery vibe (heavy but cosy at the same time for me) - given that the stories sets in the bleak weather of Sweden; it gives me the chill even if I wasn’t really there.

Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Harry Potter's Magic ~ a clever story and plot twist! While the plot may seem fairly simple, resembling what is typically seen in crime series—focused on a single murder case and the backstory of a particular detective, zooming into his life outside of police work—I deducted a star from the review. However, I love how Gerhardsen creates numerous characters and backstories, sometimes providing glimpses into how the murderer carried out their 'work,' leaving breadcrumbs for readers to follow. This makes it perfect for those seeking a cozy mystery vibe

Am still half way through The Last Lullaby, but I can tell it’s going to be 4 stars like the first two in the series!

Reflection

Read these books for fun, so I didn’t keep track much of any quotes or any take aways of life lessons. It was a fun read!
