Frame our thoughts
Quick pick me up quotes from the Daily Stoic :
“Frame your thoughts like this—you are an old person, you won’t let yourself be enslaved by this any longer, no longer pulled like a puppet by every impulse, and you’ll stop complaining about your present fortune or dreading the future.”
—MARCUS AURELIUS, MEDITATIONS, 2.2
We all hate being controlled and being told what to do, yet we let our emotion controls and tell our next move.
Are we really self-sufficient people we always tell ourselves? If you are reading this today, on board with me to reflect, on how many times a day did we let our emotions suck our brain into depression, anger, jealousy when we compare our existence with others.
Little did we realize, each time that happened, we became the puppet to what society designed to make us dance the way they want.
How much of me letting myself be a society pleaser versus letting our thoughts and emotion flow naturally?
