Simplified Eid
This Eid, my partner and I decided to take a different approach. Instead of meticulously planning every detail as we've done in past Eids, we opted for simplicity. We realized that our previous efforts to invite others into our lives and seek connection through elaborate celebrations were exhausting and often left us feeling unfulfilled. Especially, when those we chose to be part of our lives are like energy vampire. That was the last batch of ones that offer a lopsided friendship to us. Filtered. CTRL+ALT+DEL. Connections? It doesn’t have to take holidays to remember people who we care about? Gestures? What is one, if it’s one lopsided effort? This year, we prioritized genuine connections over grand gestures, choosing to spend the day in a more relaxed and intimate setting. It was a refreshing change of pace, allowing us to focus on what truly matters: each other's company and our own well-being. We embraced the idea of less being more, finding contentment in quiet moments of reflection and gratitude. This Eid taught us that authenticity and simplicity are the keys to genuine happiness.
Truth is, there is little to no pretentiousness involved. And that for us, is happiness!
And hey, waking up to Eid this year, there are 3 of us. Both of us and cute tiny paws, the old Jojie.
All fun except for when you’re down with flu 🤧
How noisy is your Eid?
