Effective bujo weekly set-up
Hello, friends! ☕ Welcome to #PlanningSunday
If you’re new to Bullet Journaling, I’m here today to help simplify the process for you. Grab a coffee (grab me one too!), and let's chat. if you reading this on a Sunday, it’s the best day to reset and plan for the week ahead.
Before we dive in, I'd suggest checking out my earlier post on Bullet Journal set-up. It'll give you some context for our chat today.
Weekly Set-Up
#1 Master Tasks
Create a section named 'Master Tasks' to jot down high-level to-dos for the week. Categorize them into Creatives, Life, and Work (refer image above). You can change the category into what suits your life (refer to my previous blogpost)
During your planning session, list tasks here, and later, allocate them to daily pages. It gives you an overview of your week, not just a place to jot notes.
#2 Weekly Spread
Divide the page into two sections for two days each. Saturdays and Sundays share a smaller column for a simple and efficient layout.
#3 Daily Spread
For each day, note the date and day. You can break it into sections if you like. Remember, this is your personal and creative planner. During your planning session, prepare your key.
Mark tasks as dots/bullets. Review daily—start, mid-day (optional), and end. Rapid logging with dashes adds a personal touch. (refer the weekly and daily spread image above)
New Week Planning
#4 Weekly Reflection
Reflect on Fridays (for work) and Sundays. Take 5-10 mins to review your week.
Ask:
What went well? e.g Pie baking was great!
What didn't? e.g One alarm wasn’t enough
Do more, do less. e.g Do more walking for 10 mins daily, Do less of scrolling after 9pm
#5 Mental Inventory
Avoid decision fatigue by writing what you're working on, should be working on, and want to be working on. Filter through questions: Does it matter? Is it vital? Keep or discard accordingly.
Repeat the process
Yup, repeat all the 5 above every single week. Don’t get discourage if your set-up is clunky, it’s normal to make mistake when we first trying something new. My first bullet journal was a mess too!
Lastly, if you enjoy this blog-post, check out my Youtube videos on how I plan my month using bullet journal and Notion. It can be overwhelming when you first start a bullet journal, take one planning set-up at a time. Till next time, friends.
