‘24 on pie

That’s the little crust decoration I put on my first Sheperd’s pie, ‘24, to celebrate the new year. I spent my new year afternoon to bake pie. #24 ~ Symbolises 24 things I can do to make this year memorable ~~ like an advent calendar for the year!

To make it less overwhelmed, align to my word for the year, “simplicité”. I want it simple but I also want it to be memorable and meaningful.

For each month, I can aim for 2 things to do which will then add up to 24 by end of this year. These 24 must reflect the word I manifest for the year and goals I planned. It has to be something that I am happy to do, simple to do, also not duplicated! ~~ Wouldn’t it be fun?

I’d thought all of this idea while baking, really! Take this lightly, my definition of ‘simple’ may not be the same as you. I am always fall into my own internal world, deep thinking of all kinds of stuff that appear interesting to me at the time (ps: something an INTJ likes to do).

Meanwhile, in the external world…While I was prepping, I thought my husband and I can’t possibly eat all the pies I am about to make, so the only fair thing to do is to bake them in small boxes and share it equally with close family and friend.

Mind you, I finished baking all few boxes 4 hours after! A long process (I hated it at some point!) but it was rewarding. Even a short night drive to send these small new year treats is refreshing too.

Well, one out of 24 things are checked off the list. Start a bake n’ share tradition. Bake new recipe and share with others once a month!

Bake n’ share - Checked!

Now, what’s the rest 23 will be like?
