What can I see this morning?
Each morning, as I draw back my curtains and open the window, I ask myself, 'What can I see? What can I smell? What can I hear?'
We must return to the indigenous beauty of the world and say, 'Oh dear, this is beautiful'— that laughing line, the wrinkle, the grey hairs… say that it’s beautiful. Because this is gratitude in its essence. There's beauty even in the loss of peaks of life; it may signify moving towards acceptance in living. Appreciate what is left, doesn’t matter how long it is.
As that happens, I'll expand into this time of my life and become more aware of my existence. Perhaps then, I can grow to live happily.
Alhamdullillah
